Many different landscapes and scenery to view throughout the walk. Make sure you are slightly in shape, otherwise the loop could prove to be difficult.

One of my favourite days that I spend in the North Island.
We had a great tour guide and it was fantastic to see some of the set from the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Also got to pet a cute cat named Pickles!

We did not rent a campervan, but we rented a car for over a month from them.
Nice car with enough room for two to sleep in the back. They are very helpful and even booked our ferry from the North Island to the South Island.

Be prepared to walk through a smelly area.
It does have some very colourful thermal pools which was neat. I do believe it should be cheaper to view this area. Overall, it was pretty cool.

Sadly, the set from Lord of the Rings was taken down, but they provide you with a map so one can see where the crew had filmed.
It is in a lovely location and many trails are located in the park.

Lake Waikaremoana Great Walk

Beautiful walks and another one of the Great Walks.
You walk through a dense forest with a huge lake next to you that offers a nice breeze. At the end of the track a water taxi comes to pick you up.
