1/2 hour from Dunedin CBD.
Best you drive out here during daylight because you may start doubting yourself. What you wake up to is well worth it, and if you're game take a swim at the beach. Very quiet spot, just a few locals roll up in the morning for a walk.

Beautiful location, possibly best short rainforest walk in NZ.
It is apparent this site is used a lot and campervans and cars a sprawled a little inconveniently. DOC do have a large presence here due to its popularity.

Nice spot, no public toilet after dark.
Regional aquatic centre on Kilbirnie Crescent has amenities for a cost (we went for a swim as well @ $5.90 admission). For $8 you can also have access to a spa and sauna (regretting we didn't fork out the extra $2.10 for this😫). Short drive to CBD, probably a little too far for walking.

A necessary evil for some, planning ahead will prevent you spending $50.
However, definitely a great location for everything Wellington, and catching an early (3am) ferry.

A drive that requires commitment, best you come from SH10 and turn at Pungaere Road.
A gravel road is unavoidable but worth the drive out. New amenities with two pit toilets and cold shower. $6 to stay overnight. Access to forest walks right next to campsite.

Great spot!
All amenities you need, and clean. Well worth the measly $10 to stay. Forest walk is an added bonus.

Got everything you need, $38 for two with campervan, maybe a little steep.
5 minute walk into Wanaka.

Convenient location, toilets are a bit far away and does fill quickly by evening.
Stayed 2 times heading south and north. It is great to be so close to the bars/clubs and not worry about having a few drinks.

Don't give up hope finding this, clean public toilets near by and nice little spot to stay overnight.
Maybe it's a good thing some can't find this.

Pick of all the places we stayed in NZ.
Truly underrated part of NZ, do yourself a favour and get over here! $25 for two in a campervan, and $2 for hot showers but well worth every cent here.

Highly recommended, great community vibe the minute you set foot here.
Good amenities and set out nicely.
