Took the bus to the start of the walk - strenuous climb up slopes and steps, fascinating scenery, very steep descent, straight down an ash slop!
Excellent day walk, should be done. Very busy. Timings between places are not too accurate!

Doesn't sound like it but this was an excellent outing on a tractor along the beach to the bottom of the gannet colony.
20 minute walk to see the birds. Driver extremely knowledgeable about the geology, rock formations etc. 3 hours.

Disappointing, this was a Christmas present from our children.
Quite expensive for what you get - pools and massage and only had a very short time in the pools because of the time of the massage.

A very enjoyable walk around the goldmine and on to the mine walk.
Walk through tunnels above the river - well worth a visit to this DOC walk.

Rob and Nick run an excellent campervan rental service from the Bay of Islands.
They are excellent hosts, stayed overnight at their BnB at the start. The van is just perfect, small (5.7m), efficient, comfortable, has a shower and toilet. Our first time in a campervan = love it in New Zealand.
