Place is still under construction at reception, facilities that old and basic that we preferred to use our own facilities in the camper. Also nice that the whole camping area was available and the first parking spot they offered was directly next to the construction area, children's playground and at the street side. We could change after we asked for a silent spot with the comment: "there are no other campers in the back parking area, are you sure?" YES, we were sure! Not even warm water to wash hands after toilet. Sorry, but not at all standard of Top 10 holiday parks! We would not recommend this expensive, old place at all!

No real kitchen, no stove!
$10 without power and $20 with power for 2 adults, cheap, but:
Only pans, cups, plates, toaster and water boiler and water to wash dishes. Small children playground and tennis court (for free) which is nice. Facilities can not be ranked as there were no light (maybe broken?) on the ladies site!!!!! So I have done my things in our own camper. The owner was friendly, but not available all the time (would be good to have him seen after 6pm to change the light at the toilets!) Be aware of the trains, they are loud and in the morning they start to horn when they cross, so a lot of noise! 1 night stop ok, but definately not more.

Free laundry, but $1 per 10 minutes for the dryer.
After $6 nothing was dry at all and we have to hang it anyway. :(((( so take your time to hang it.
The place has some potential but almost everything is old and not lovely maintained. The swimming pool was closed, tennis court and billiards table is as well very old. Kitchen is fully equipped and a lot of space, 2 BBQs are also available.
Free Wifi but kick you out for several times and takes very long to connect again. Owner is OK. Last but not least, location directly at the main road with lots of noise. We would recommend to take the nice camp ground downtown instead (same price, only wifi and laundry pay extra). Farmers market saturdays 9-12:30 is nice.

Obviously I cant be everything to all guests and I am disappointed with that. I suggest the dryer issue would have been able to have been sorted had you contacted myself, less of a load clean the lint out etc, but I hope that most will hang the clothes out. Swimming pool the weather dictates open or not?? Pool tables one has recently been recovered and the other is one month old. WIFI yes we are on the edge of reception and you must have had a bad day. Place is not maintained well that's a new one we try very hard to keep everything maintained at all the times . I'm happy you had a bad day with my park as that would have enabled you to enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Magnificent place with beautiful sunset and the water.
Good spot to go to in the morning 1 hour to Hooker Valley track and use the underground parking lot above instead the DOC Campground extra. Those who do not come too late all can park in the first row.

Great walk, well prepared route, 3 swing bridges and awesome view of the Mount Cook at the end with a great lake (ice is swimming in the lake).
Worth for the 1,5 hours moderate walking time to get to the end, another 1,5 hours to return (3 hours in total).

Very touristy and busy, get there early over late. Use the free entrance straight after the railway crossing, not via the restaurant, they charge $2.

We loved this place.
Owners are from Switzerland, great kitchen place to enjoy meal in the sun. If you arrive late (after 8:30pm), no problem! Put money and your details into a box and meet them in the morning. Facilities are clean and enough without waiting. Directly at the beach and only 3km to the beach boulders. We enjoyed our stay, thanks!

Lovely place, peaceful and absolutely delicious food.
We stopped there for lunch and did also take a cake for later on our trip. Small menu and it took some time, but absolutely recommended place to be! Garden visit is $2 per adult, children are free.
