Fantastic site, we were surrounded by the sea on three sides!
Trevor the site manager/owner was extremely helpful and very friendly, he was fine with us having a few relatives round for a BBQ. There are also kayaks that can be hired too!

Absolutely lovely, very nice pitches, all with good views.
Facilities are spotlessly clean and well maintained. Nice and quiet and handy for a visit to the Kauri museum. Would stay here again. Thanks to the great staff too, most helpful.

Firstly, a great beach and great surf, but I have to agree with other reviews!
The site is very tired and needs freshening up. Also some of the permanent plots are a bit of an eye sore and spoil things a bit. There is not a lot of choice around here though, but a lick of paint would do wonders.

First class, the facilities are in 'pods' each with a shower, sink and toilet, spotlessly clean.
The view we had from our camper van was lovely, from open seas to the marina below. The walkway is at the bottom of a slope, and provides access to a few bars and restaurants. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the fish and chip shop ( 5minutes walk away) serves great food. Would definitely stay there again.

We wanted a site near to Gravity Canyon and the i-Site in Taihape suggested this one, and what a gem it is!
We didn't book and when we turned up we were the only campers here in January. The facilities are fab and very clean, and the owners are very friendly and helpful. All the pitches seem to have views of the spectacular river and cliffs. Well worth stopping by.
