This site is a rip off.
$90 for a camper van for 2 people is double what we have paid for better facilities elsewhere. If you can avoid do so. However, it is a great location for the beach and Cathedral Cove walk. Facilities are good but not sufficient for numbers on this large busy site. We felt the owners are exploiting their customers.

This camping site is run by an absolute legend of the camping game who goes by the name of Don.
We spent our entire time in New Zealand using the Rankers NZ Camping App and by luck stumbled into the man and myth himself who actually created the App. Upon entry to the campsite he offered free WiFi, free reign at his vegetable garden and great advice for the remaining days of our trip through the Abel Tasman National Park - all for the small cost of a few paragraphs worth of honest reviews that would help the NZ Rankers Camping App have a more substantial basis for its reviews of camping sites and activities.

Excellent campsite with very helpful staff and as said by others just the place for the Tongariro crossing.
Very clean showers and toilets with lashings of hot water. Shuttle bus operates out of here and Megan is very professional. She counts you out with all your details and mobile numbers and counts you back and if you don't get back she for the last bus she will come for you!! Walk is amazing but challenging at times.

What a little gem of a site.
Drove from Wellington and thanks to Rankers found this quiet, grassy site with power and basic facilities all for $12 a van. 9 km's off State Highway 3. Great to watch the sun setting over the sea. Toilets, showers and kitchen basic but all work. Saturday night end January and plenty of space.

Good location 10 minutes from the start of the Abel Tasman Track.
Great for accessing water taxi and kayaks. Large site well laid out amongst mature vegetation with own stream and bush walks. No shortage of hot water and washing up. However, no dump station or information sheet, and wifi extra $5 a day - given we were charged $45 a night for two on a powered site - most expensive camp we stayed at in the South Island. Showers and toilet block perhaps need refurbishment.

Excellent location, friendly reception, fresh eggs, kale, lettuce.
Facilities 5 star and you chose own site. Helpful re: booking jet boat. Would come back especially if not raining.
