Communal areas are nice and welcoming. Showers in men's a bit old but a good place to stay.

Huge site below Ocean Beach with excellent facilities but cramped pitches.
Internet free and very fast. Bus to city centre every hour.

Would be 10 for the view but with only 4 showers for a huge campsite it must be hell in high season!
In February few people staying so peaceful with great walk by lakeside as far as Wanaka. If the facilities were upgraded (and they must be 50 years old) would be brilliant.

Best showers we have found in NZ! Lake view pitches are cramped but the rest spacious. Internet very slow after 4pm.

A torturous journey across mountains on gravel road from Rotorua but brilliant scenery and well worth it when you get there!
Power sites and very good facilities. Journey to Waipoa in the other direction much easier and quicker. Good walk 2hrs return to the falls.

Construction work going on, and a large group visiting who seem to have brought a month's washing with them thus monopolising the laundry. No lights in the barbecue area so difficult to use after sunset!

By far the most expensive site in 30 we have stayed in, and by far the oldest facilities which must be at least 50 years old.
Paid for internet which was intermittent and the manager had no idea about it. Beautiful peninsula but very poor site.

Thanks Paul. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay. We charge $17.50 per person for an unpowered site (which includes the showers, toilets, kitchen TV lounge, spa pool and unlimited WIFI). The onsite laundry does cost $3 for a wash and $4 for a dry.
