The camp site is beautifully kept and extremely well appointed.
We were surprised that when we presented our Rankers 10% voucher the lady on reception said the voucher had been issued by mistake and they would not honour the voucher. The person on reception was somewhat unfriendly and some of the notices around the site were officious but, if you like military facilities, this was a decent campground.

We really liked this site.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Toilets and showers were clean and well kept and the kitchen was well equipped. It poured with rain when we arrived so the very comfortable TV lounge was a welcome feature. A minor downside was the need to drive down a grass slope to get to our site. Showers had to be paid for but it was only 50 cents with plenty of time allowed.
Thank you for your positive feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you'll be back soon.

Reasonable site and the shower and toilet facilities were good.
However, we were with friends and had asked when booking for the sites to be adjacent. They were - but with a big hedge between us and, instead, we were right next to a large camper in a relatively cramped space. Doing laundry was stressful because it was overly busy - with notices restricting removal of other people's laundry from machines while completed laundry was left in machines for over an hour by some inconsiderate campers. The camp was noisy, largely due to the large number of younger visitors and the kitchen was like a war zone! Not the place for a quiet stay!

A fabulous camp site.
Excellent cooking and eating facilities. Negatives: (1) The wi-fi was slow and only worked if you were in the kitchen area. (2) Toilet paper ran out in all but the disabled toilets on one day of our stay. An big plus was that the camp is a short walk to the visitor centre and the Chateau. (The cream teas at the cafe were excellent and a much better deal than cream tea in the hotel area). The camp is also close to the start points of a number of excellent walks. Recommended.
