Great park right on a beautiful beach.
Fantastic spotless facilities and lovely friendly lady at the office. Would have given it a 10 but was disappointed that we had to pay 50c for a 5 minute shower. Otherwise, it was the best park we stayed in during our recent trip.

Lady in office was nice and friendly but facilities in desperate need of a good makeover.
Only stayed one night. Didn't look clean at all to the point that we couldn't have a shower.

What a great experience!
We did the 6 hour Bridge to Nowhere tour and it was the highlight of our recent trip. Brent was a wonderful and informative guide and his stories about the region transported us back in time. The morning tea (delicious home baked apricot loaf washed down with freshly brewed tea and coffee) on the Bridge was delicious and it was great to stand around, chat and take it all in. We were then taken further up the river where we stopped for lunch. Brent poured out some chilled orange juice for everyone and the tablecloth added a really lovely touch. We had a great day on the River and learned so much about the area, its history and its people and the whole experience was made very special by such a wonderful host. It was food for the soul and created memories that will stay with us for ever.

Lovely new motorhome (Platinum Beach), spotless condition.
Picked up from Wellington which cost us an extra $90 a day compared to picking up from other locations. Unfortunately we found that out after having paid our deposit. There were a few minor problems with it. Electric step wasn't working. Noticed at pick up time but the young man couldn't get it to work so we took it anyway as we wanted to get going. It was a bit of a nuisance to have to jump down all the time. Door was hard to open. Light in shower/toilet didn't work at all. When the reading light near the bed was turned on it was blowing the lights fuse. Maui staff were really good when we contacted them about the issue and directed us to the nearest place where we could get it fixed but we purchased a packet of fuses and changed it and didn't use that particular light as it was an ongoing problem. Perhaps leaving a packet of fuses in the vehicle might be a good idea. Window in the bed area above the cab leaked when it rained. I would hate to hire an older vehicle! Drop off was smooth. We reported all the issues so we hope they fixed them. I don't like the fact that they charge your credit card for the bond. Not only does your bank charge you for foreign currency conversion but Maui charge a credit card fee on the amount as well. I think it should just be an imprint only with a transaction taking place if there's a need. This was our first time hiring a motor home so we now know what to look out for.
Hello Kikiflower
Thank you for your review. While it was great to learn that you enjoyed your time in New Zealand and the motorhome was nice and clean when you picked it up, we are very sorry that you did experience some issues with the step, door, light and window. We no longer offer Wellington as a collection or return point, and our larger Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown branches are better equipped to recognize and repair any issues before our homes are given to our customers. In regards to the bond, an imprint does not give us any security and a hold will only last for a certain time dictated by your credit card provider hence we do debit the vehicle security bond for the Standard Liability and Liability Reduction Option One. The Credit Card surcharge that is charged when the bond is debited is also refunded on Visa and MasterCard bond payments.
Kind regards
