Nice DOC camping ground with beautiful views of the mountains with honesty box.
Easy to find and to park the campervan. The one hour round walk which starts at the entrance of the road to the camping grounds shows you the names of all trees.

Very quiet and nice spot close to the river and the sea.
Follow the gravel road, do not drive down to the riverbank in the beginning of the road, the camping ground is further on.

Close to State Highway 1.
We parked our campervan on the right before the bridge. The office is located on the other side. Very beautiful spots near the river. Only a few with electricity but you can charge your phone in the kitchen. White cliffs of the gorge are amazing.
Thanks for taking time to review. You stayed at Mangaweka Campground, our budget option, which is lovely under the native trees. Awastone hosts the main office and the quality camp on the other side of the bridge. Cheers!

We paid for a table and chairs but there was no table!
We had engine problems with the campervan, they told us to go to a garage but it was the wrong garage who was not able to handle campervans.
