Pretty sure if you dream about camping in a “Fawlty Towers” episode, you’ll love this place.
Condescending unfriendly owners. All things considered, the place has stunning views of the dunes of the opposite side of the inlet and a fantastic friendly pub close by.

Stunning "gem" of a stopover for us.
Very close river walk perfect for evening stroll. A lot of attention to detail (soaps, hand towels, kitchens utilities) included in this secluded spacious site. Loved the grassy sites. Would have been a 10 for me but unfortunately gas ran out on a statutory holiday and had to have a cold shower.

Stunning location.
Lord Of The Rings fans will love the walk up into the Pinnacles. A short drive to the Lighthouse and seal colony. Across the road from a sandy beach. Memorable sunset.

Stunning location.
Well defined camping sites right on beach (low tide the best as you can walk out in between the rocks) Friendly managers and not too crowded even though in peak season. Facilities dated but clean with hot showers.

Met up with friends for a night.
Loved the experience of staying at a place off the beaten track. The Hangi meal was fantastic and all just for $50 (Dec 15). Talking to the new owners, this place is very special. Their generosity to their local community should be commended.

Perfect place for 1 or 2 nights stop over.
Right on the beach, walking distance to shops and 2 wineries. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful place to camp for a few days.
Basic flushing toilets but kept clean and stocked. Being right on the beach an added bonus. Definitely worth a trip. Arrived in peak season and still managed to get a spot under the trees.

Well done Wellington City for being truly Motorvanner friendly and allowing us the pleasure of staying right in the central city.
We throughly enjoyed being right on the waterfront and the diversity of campers using this facility.
