Decent flat(ish) sites with a short walk to the beach and some easy walking and cycle tracks nearby.
A portaloo was delivered here today too, but it's clearly labeled for CSC vehicles only.

Good access and availability, plenty of parking and flat space for even the biggest rigs.
Dump station onsite, fresh water too. Only point missing is for the view, as a couple hundred meters down the road is a similar site right on the beach! :)

LOTS of toilets and flat sections, for both cars and tents.
Far more than 20 spaces, I'd say there are at least 50 vehicles spread around here tonight and it's not crowded at all. Most sites are somewhat exposed to the windy conditions and I couldn't find tap water anywhere. They are also out of payment slips the second night we're here, so perhaps didn't expect such a big turnout this weekend (after Christmas) either? DOC warden just came by and said over 200 vehicles since yesterday morning so more like 100 spaces a night!

Great views and friendly staff but only tea is now free (coffee from the 'bar' is somewhat over marketed I think.
My wife however gives it a full 10/10 so I guess it's all relative ;)

What a lovely campsite.
Water (sign says needs boiling) and two toilets, lots of flat semi-protected spaces and tents are allowed (up to 28 days!!) Only drawback was the wind, but superb views and access to a beautiful beach :)

A nasty bumpy gravel pullover shared with trucks on the main road.
No facilities or view and lots of traffic noise. Desperation stop only!

Beautiful views and wide shady parking on either grass or hard sand with direct access to the sandy beach.
Couldn't hear traffic over the white noise of the waves (even though road only 20m away). Only loses points as no water or dump facilities, and bins strongly state "no domestic waste" (even though filled to overflowing with it the time!)

Beautiful open and shaded area with new toilets, taps and even tenting allowed so essentially a truly free campsite!
Space for at least 50 campers so there will always be room available. They have even created a raised 'berm' through the middle which allows the huge area by the stream to avoid almost all road noise. Beautiful nights sleep. Only negative is the lack of a motorhome dump site, but not a biggie :)

Free scenic and self contained only (no facilities).
Not well signposted as a 'freedom campsite' but since you're reading this you know it is :)
Very exposed and quite windy the night we were here, but great location, ON the beach and seals very close and rather tame too.

Quiet and somewhat remote location with 7 big vehicle bays on all weather gravel surface, only 2 other vehicles here when we stayed Dec 8th (Perfume Point had 13!)

Good flat parking area with space for about 10 vehicles.
Very quiet and residential feel, no traffic noise at all! Handy dump site right by the entrance with good clearance for large vehicles.
