The campground is really worn out and needs some upgrade.
When we were there it was quite busy with many families. No security who can go in and out. The Aquatic park was busy, so I cannot rate this because standing in the pool was not an option for me. I think the price of 36 NZD is not reflecting the amenities you get. Would not recommend.

Now there are four toilets (portaloos) and an outside tap for water.
The carpark location is perfect exploring the city because it is just behind the railway station. You have to pay fee until 6 p.m. do that because the space is patrolled, after 6 p.m it gets busy and hard to find a free spot. I did not find it too noisy. Two trains before 10 p.m. and the traffic will start in the morning 5 a.m. So overall I would recommend it, you get what you „pay for“.

The place is perfectly okay, don‘t understand the negative reviews.
The bathroom was clean, the 7,5 minute shower was hot (even too hot for me) and enough time. The kitchen is old but was clean and well equipped. You need a code for the kitchen if you want to use it before 9 a.m. and the sites were a bit small for a campervan. Powered site was 38 NZD

Very nice location up in the hill with a view over the harbour and the sanddunes.
The owner was very friendly. They guide every camper to their site. We had a nice spot, huge with great view. The kitchen was clean. Only the toilet and shower were a bit worn out and with the huge group of people there it got dirty but that is how it is. I do not find 20 NZD too expensive

Nice campground with big sites.
It was busy end of January and lots of children...but there is much to do for them. The location is perfect. Not far from Matakana, near the Sawmill Brewery, a short drive away. The shower was unisex and separated from the toilet which is very good. Water pressure and temperature perfect. Huge kitchen and barbecue available, but no pots or pans, so bring your own but you can rent if you need them.

An easy 10 for this place!
Of course it was the most expensive one we had during our vacation but it is definitely worth every penny. The location is perfect, the site is small but enough to put out table and chairs. The kitchen clean, the bathroom perfect clean, as said the bath mats are a plus! And it is cleaned every few hours...where is that if you compare? And you can take your drinking water from a source for free. Excellent place! Not to forget the staff is very friendly and helpful with all kind of enquiries.

We booked a van on short notice in Christchurch.
We were really happy with the van, it was a bit old but everything was well maintained. When we returned the van in Auckland, the staff was very friendly regarding the gas bottle. We did not fill it because no one helped us to find out how to at the gas station. We would definitely book again with them!
