Really beautiful location given the proximity to Auckland and the airport.
A bit confusing there are actually two camp sites for self contained vehicles. The first you will see is inside the outer gate (closes 7pm in winter and 9 pm in summer) and costs $8 per adult. For the second you need to go through a second gate for which you need an access code, pick up the phone at the information booth to make reservations and get the code. Cost is $15 for adults. This site has cold showers and clean toilets.

Really nice lake view.
If there are no more available slots for camper vans you may find more options 100 m down the road where it turns. This is also where you find the toilet.

Very lush and green surroundings, feels like being in the nature.
Spacious powered sites right down to the river. A bit run down facilities but acceptable.
We are doing the place up. Started with new linen in the flats, cabins, caravans and backpackers. Also doing lots of maintenance to bring the park up to tip top standard

Gorgeous view over the sea.
If you get in early it will be full with cars and tourist busses. The parking lot seem to empty between 6-7 pm. Toilets were very dirty though.
