We covered the whole track in a couple of hours, stopping plenty to take pictures, make sure you wear plenty of sunscreen as there is not a lot of shade.
To see the volcanic landscape is other worldly, the walkways are very safe and clear and the colours of the pools is mind blowing, they look fake! I would give it 10/10 if it was a little cheaper, we could only afford to see this as other places were of a similar price. Definitely make your way to the mud pools!

We parked up our camper at the end of the trail and caught a shuttle bus with Tongariro Expeditions to the start at 6:30am.
Cheaper than shuttling both ways and nice to have your van at the end. The landscape on this walk is breathtaking, from steaming mountains, to vivid blue lakes, it is just beautiful. We managed it in 6 hours and enjoyed a well deserved beer afterwards.

Incredible experience, the friendliest staff who worked super hard to make you feel at home.
Loved snorkelling for Kina and was even brave enough to try it. The Bay of Islands is a must see and this trip was best way to see it. Rather than a rushed day trip, this trip meant you got the best of both worlds, seeing the islands at sunset and sunrise, as well as visiting Roberton Island and climbing up for panoramic views. Just do it!!
Dear Geraldine,
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. You're braver than most, kina is an acquired taste! We are certainly in a privileged position as the only overnight cruise in the Bay of Islands and I'm glad that your experience exceeded expectations; we aim to please and of course hope to see you aboard again some time.
Kind Regards,
Amy - The Rock Adventure Cruise
