Clean and tidy site, lots of room for a campervan when we stayed just before Christmas.
Lovely estuary 2 minutes walk from the site. One of the best campsites we stayed at in 3 weeks because of space and peaceful environment.

No power at time of stay so at the moment it's a car park with cold water taps, although sign says power coming soon.
Nice bar and gardens but not easily walkable to town.

Small spaces for campervans on gravel, no view of lake but once outside the site, the area is lovely.
Washing facilities good, staff helpful.

Great location and not busy between Christmas and New Year.
Long drop toilet now has paper and sanitiser gel. Some pitches had firebox. Recommend for overnight stay.

Slots for campervans are the smallest we've experienced in 2 weeks travelling the South Island (need curtains shut for privacy unless you want to see your neighbours breakfast!).
Nice to have shrubs and trees around which diluted the impact of smaller pitches. Staff friendly and did move us when we asked for a slot to accommodate a larger van. Great position, close to all Franz Joseph amenities.
