Plenty of space for many self contained motorhomes.
Quiet spot. Great that it is free. Basic toilets on site which flush but fine. No tents permitted. No water taps here. There is a boat ramp here. Popular with water skiers. Refer to other reviewers.

Spotlessly clean toilets and showers.
No coins needed for showers. Flat pitches. Easy hook up. Short walk to town for coffee with a view before the ferry trip. Car parking costs $1 per hour in town so small saving to park and walk from the site. This campsite offered a powered site for single person $22. Wifi is extra.

Excellent location.
Lots of space for self contained vehicles, motor homes. Directions: travelling from the south, don't be fooled by the sign to "5 Mile Bay" sign at Tawhaa St which takes you to a car park where no overnight stay is allowed. Go a little further along the main road and use the sign for "5 Mile Bay, Ski Lane" to take you to the area when overnight camping permitted. Excellent pathway for brisk walk along the lake edge (part of the Great Lake Walkway). No water or toilets, but in Taupo, Redoubt Rd there is a community site for fresh water, emptying grey water and public toilets.

Handy spot where Hamilton Drive intersects with the main road.
Space restricted to 5 motor homes - self contained. No facilities except waste/ effluent dump. Gravel, flat and views to lake. Walking distance to township. Arrive at 5pm to get your spot. Depart by 9am.

Cheerful, clean and tidy.
Freshly painted on my visit in October. Kiwiana feeling to facilities which I liked, green grass and trees made a nice setting next to the road. Unlimited wifi, lots of hot water in shower and powered site for my motor home made the place great value for me. Single person in a motorhome, powered site $20.
