Great camp, with clean toilets ,dump station, fresh water, and big area to find a place to park, all for $10 a site.
Lovely friendly local couple collected the fees. It worked out a great place to stay for three nights on our North Island trip!!

Wonderful spot by Lake Taupo , free and you are allowed to stay for up to 4 days.
Good long drop toilet, very busy spot 45 of us camping here. You do have to be self contained, there will be a DOC warden around to check which is good to see.

Beautiful spot by the estuary, train station just across playing field and only $16 return trip to Wellington, well worth it !
Would camp here again as it was very handy to get to the Ferry only 20mins. A shame that no one patrols this area as there were quite a few people camped here that were not self contained !!

Great spot by a nice beach, good having the cold showers after you have had a swim, didn't mind the $20 camp fee but had no choice about having to pay $2 for a rubbish bag that we didn't use!

Great spot right next to the sea but sheltered by hedges , good toilets and a room where you can hang your solar shower.
Great value powered sight $15 for two, non powered $10, very quite even though there was quite a few people camping there, would stay here again !!

Camped here on our way to catch the ferry to Wellington, worked out great only 1 1/2 hrs away.
Great spot but you need to be reasonably early as it filled up quite quickly after 4pm. Worth walking the lookout track, great view of the bay!

Looked in on this camp but decided to move on, there was very limited places to camp, most the area was blocked off with barriers, and there was some very ruff looking lot camped there in a van and tent
that were not self contained.

A lovely spot by the estuary, amazing sunset great toilets.
We were a bit confused about where to camp, as there were several campers on the left when we came in, so parked up on grass area near the other campers,13 of us in all camped there. Wasn't till the next morning that we found a sign saying only 4 campers allowed and only in carpark on the right as you come in! Security did come in at about 9pm and wrote down all our number plates but no one asked any of us to move on !!

Great spot right by the sea, good toilets.
We were blessed to be there in great weather and watched the most beautiful sun rise! A bit noisy as you are right by the road, but would loved to stay here again, very busy and you do have to be self contained as we seen a Dad and his son asked to leave by security [ who weren't self contained. ]
