Absolutely amazing place, beautiful scenery, lovely drive although tight in some areas so take your time, it's well worth it.
We got to see many fur seal adults and pups but most memorable we were lucky to have an enormous elephant seal only ten metres away sunning with the others just the most memorable sight ever. This is definitely worth taking the time to drive out and experience this beautiful location.

Lovely little park, very friendly staff good facilities and recommended highly to anyone looking for a relaxing quiet overnight stay.
If we had any downside it was the vineyards starting their wind blowing machines early but you have to expect it at this time of year and in this environment. Over all the park was excellent and will come back here on our next trip to NZ.

You need a higher score than ten for this one, we did the 40min flight with Nathan and it is without doubt the best thing we have ever done - brilliant, scenic, breath taking and value for money.
Commentary was excellent, snow landing wonderful and Nathan was happy to take photos of all of us to remember this experience. Can't recommend this company, tour, and pilot more highly, didn't just want to take our money, wanted us to have a memory that will last forever even having us delay until the best moment to see everything this area has to offer. Just amazing if you're going to do a helicopter flight choose this company you wont be disappointed.

Great park, lots of sites, well priced, and the staff were very accommodating.
After having a great afternoon out on the lake it was a relaxing place to park up for the night with great clean, tidy, and up to date facilities thanks again.

Hot Water Beach

One of those things you just have to do, we were there right on low tide.
Easy to find and pretty easy to dig, only thing to be aware of is how hot the water can get so a mix of thermal and some cold sea water makes it perfect. We shared our hole with some people from New Zealand, Spain, Germany, and France, so made it all the more fun. The area has lots to see and do and we benefited from camping close by and a good shower straight after.

After arriving late in the day we weren't sure we would get out on the lake but lucky for us we found Dave about to do a trip and we had the best of afternoons possible.
We got to see the beautiful carvings, steer the boat, feed some ducks on the wing, and gain lots of information and laughs from Dave, an excellent skipper keen for his guests to have the best trip possible. The wind ended up being a bit fluky but he tried and we got to sail for a little while but in the end that didn't matter, we were on a lovely boat, drink in hand, in a fantastic location with a great host. A must when you're in Taupo.

Absolutely brilliant, four of us had an experience of a lifetime on a beautiful river in a great boat with an excellent driver and guide.
Mark went out of his way to make our experience exceptional, it felt just for us. Great information on the river and the area added to the trip and is one of our many highlights from our New Zealand trip and cannot recommend Buller Canyon Jet highly enough. Mark can expect more Aussies coming his way.

Had a wonderful afternoon with Dave - knowledgeable and obliging with a desire to show you quality produce that suits your taste as well as sampling others.
Picked up from our accommodation and delivered back; sampled many quality wines, produce, and beers, and gained valuable information on the area. Highly recommend this tour, you will think you have known each other for ages. Thanks Dave for a great afternoon these four Aussies had a great time.

Hot Water Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park

Very nice park and ranks high on the best parks we stayed at in New Zealand.
Spacious sites, clean and tidy and exceptionally good facilities. Bonus so close to Hot water Beach, nice easy walk to the thermal beach at low tide and timed so a nice shower was not too far away. Staff were very friendly and helpful with map for beach. Little shop had all the essentials to make it even easier to enjoy, highly recommend this park.
