Is exactly as it states.
A nice large grassy DOC campsite next to the river. $7 when we were there and easy to manage. Toilets were the usual drop loos but they were clean and didn't smell.

Stayed at this site twice it was so nice.
On the way to and from Milford Sound. It's the closet DOC site to Te Anau and well worth driving to stay at. We picked a spot next to the edge of the lake and it was beautiful. A pebble beach, the clear lake and then surrounded by mountains. Truly a spectacular place. Just watch out for the sand flies though there are hundreds. Spray is definately a must have here!

This was a good walk but a hard one.
The track wasn't obvious at times but helpful walkers have built cairns along the way so you don't get too lost. A challenging 2 hour walk up and we didn't even get all the way due to there being too much snow and ice still on the mountain. The view down the valley was beautiful but we never saw the view over the Glacier. It was a pleasant day and I wouldn't recommend doing this walk in poor weather.

This is a beautiful walk.
The view from the end point is breathtaking. Rather windy so on a cold day make sure you take a hat but it is well worth the visit. Only a short walk as well so can be done in a small amount of time.

After a delightful ferry ride across with an informative ferry driver we spent four blissful hours walking the island.
There was a lovely picnic spot on the beach with a rope swing which was idyllic. Lots of wildlife and the robins even came and ate at our feet after we disturbed the ground as advised by our ferry driver - it was magical. Would completely recommend visiting this island and just walking around getting immersed in nature.

We stayed here for the kitchen but it was just electric hot plates on top of the counter with a sink.
No means of cooking or any pans etc. The showers were hot which was a bonus but overall we weren't impressed with this site.

Just a short walk along the beach, there is no excuse to not go visit these boulders.
Free to get to and an interesting site. Quite touristy but worth a look. You can get some beautiful pictures especially at dusk.

Lovely little site.
We went for a pitched site and it was good value for money. The kitchen area was well looked after and equipped for campers who don't necessarily have pots and pans. Lovely and warm too on a cold night. Showers were hot, only last 7 minutes to save on water but there are lots of signs explaining this so no surprises. Would recommend this campsite.

A great little place to stay on Stewart Island.
The owner is so friendly and super helpful in organising trips with you and a fountain of information to plan your stay. The rooms are a good size with hot showers and laundry facilities. The kitchen and communal area are well stocked and of a great size. There is free wifi included up to a certain limit as well. Good value for money.
