Really nice camping site directly behind the sand dunes.
No powered sites, nice toilets, cold showers and rubbish disposal. Very friendly hosts. We paid $11 per person. We would definitely go again.

Facilities were old but clean.
The campground is just nothing special and it doesn't look like somebody really cares. $20 per person for a powered site is too expensive for this camping. However we just wanted to sleep close to the town to do the Tongariro Crossing hike the next day and for that it was ok. No gates to get out early morning.

Nice place directly at the beach.
Toilets were clean. A bit crowded for October and there is only space for about 15 campers. We paid $6 per person. We would go again.

Really nice.
Campground directly at the river on gravel. Only 7 powered sites but we were by ourselves in October. Modern and nice facilities. Nice host. I definitely would go again.
Its lovely when you get the place to yourselves! Thanks for your review.

Gravel road to the park can be slippery if raining.
The park is nice as well as the camping area but its on grass and a little uneven. Toilets were really clean. We paid $15 per person for an unpowered site. Camping is close to the lovely beach. Trails around are nice for walking or running.
