Hired a Mighty in 2013, a Britz in 2015 and this year we Hired an Apollo.
This was the worst by far. Where do I start, we booked 4mths in advance, turned up and waited an hour for service. Our welcome pack consisted of a Toilet roll, Toilet chemical, and an advertising book. We booked the all inclusive insurance, and then they showed us what parts of the Motor Home this didn't include. The roof which comes down, what I call the side to nearly half way. The Bottom, which also comes up the side to almost half way. Another words the outside of the van is NOT covered by ALL INCLUSIVE insurance. So we get to look over the Vehicle, and what do we find in the back cupboard, just 1.8m of rear exhaust pipe. We were told this would be OK. After driving for 5min the first look in the rear view mirror confirmed we didn't have one. The side door did not close properly, the 240v connector box fell off as the Sikaflex gave up sticking. So at the first opportunity we got it fixed to find it was an illegal cable with the three cores sticking out in a loop of 6 inches.
You needed to use your feet on the bottom of the fridge at the same time as your hands to open. The BBQ wouldn't slide as the slide was broken. The Fly screen didn't work as the catch was broken and the screen wouldn't stay shut. This was on a pre-booked 48000km Motor Home.
Don't fall for the advertising, any of the other hire firms except this one.
We spent the first week of our three week holiday fixing things that did not work.
Maybe that's their plan, get the customers to fix the faults, and they save on Maintenance costs.
They probably charge the people who damage the vehicle, and wait for the following customers to fix the faults, sounds like a good earner.

Easy to give this a ten.
Still get the muffins on arrival. Was a little chilly so the fire was lit, which made it easier to cook. Everything you want including food for the sheep, goat and skinny pig. Thanks so much for our stay.
Thanks Steve and Debbie. It was great to see you again....although we know you really only came back to see Molly the Pig!! Glad you enjoyed the fire and we hope that the rest of your travels went well. Hope to see you next time! Kind Regards, Barbara and Chris

Another free camp which passes the relax test.
Right by the river, and a short drive to Motueka. Gets cold in winter.

I'm giving this a ten, this is the second time we stayed so we knew to stay down the far end away from the new toilet block with a view over the lake, but walk to the ablutions.
There is a new block being built, only two of us down there.

Great place but the little cars still ignore the clear signs and camp where it says NOT to.
Another place that will be lost.

Still the best place ever.
Shame about the little cars staying at a self contained camp site. It will be lost if they are allowed to sneak in after dark.

A little camp in a small village where they are trying hard to please.
We really enjoyed talking to the local retired person in the caravan, to the surprise of three small campers that we weren't expecting him to be there at 9:30pm, when they crept in hoping not to pay, Well done sir. And hope the new lino in the kitchen looks good, thanks.

Stayed here instead of closer to town.
Farmer has blocked with rocks the entry to Clearwater stream as NON self contained vehicles have defecating in his paddocks and he is sick of it.
This was told to us by our pilot over the Glaciers.
Very narrow road to Beach for Motorhome, but we left very early so as not to meet another vehicle coming in. Great relaxing time by the sea. Excellent place, but always worried about getting out.

Great place by the sea to beach comb all day.
Self contained means NO TOILETS and NO SHOWERS. I keep seeing reviews saying there
are no toilets.

Well run local community camp site.
Probably very busy in whitebait season so beware.
Plenty of room so no need to camp on top of each other. Nice hot showers, $1 for 4mins ok.

Excellent place.
Parking area is now bigger than the latest photo, I forgot to take one.
Camp free and your choice if you dine in or out. We dined at the Hotel and for $20 had a very
large meal, in front of a roaring fire. Self contained only.

Plenty of room here, well away from the road.
Little shop near entrance, self contained only. Right by the sea, a great way to welcome the dawn.

Great place to stay, close to the pancake rocks.
There are plenty of places to stay when not self contained Steffen,
they are all over NZ, camp grounds. 100% Pure NZ
Hi there! Thanks for your review! Enjoy the rest of your trip, keeping NZ 100% PURE :D

Great stop before heading through the Haast Pass to the West Coast.
Second time here, sandflies kept a bay with spray.

A great place right by the sea.
Sign says it's private land and donations are welcome. I think it's still council land.
Nice place to stop over on your way to Dunedin. It's the one back further off the road.
