Very misleading, nowhere near a beach should be advertised as a farm stay as your in the middle of paddocks!
Not expecting long drop toilets or having to pay for showers and a camp reliant on rain water!!! Animals wandering around novel, but no way children could be left unattended and animal poo everywhere which you had to be careful not to step in. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Stay further away and come to area as a day trip.
Hi Fay, you stayed in our off season so we run the camp as a family without help. Did you make your concerns about the animals to management?
All our advertisements state a 20 min walk to the beach check out our website. We are in "paddocks" because it is the only place suitable for "sheltered" camping from the sometimes very strong winds. The nearest pipeline to "not" rely on rain water is 1+ hour away so it makes sense we use rain water.

Just pleased to find somewhere to stay after long trip.
Very old but cheap at $30 a night for powered site. Nothing spent on upgrading for years but caters for older people who come to the coast to whitebait. Cloth towels in toilets not very hygienic. A Civil Defence warning in place which we knew nothing about due to gale force winds. We parked away from trees for safety, however the power went off in the region. Pretty glad to get back over the Karamea Bluff in one piece. Lesson learnt to check weather forecast. Unfortunately its the best place to stay in Karamea as the only other option is a domain.

The most expensive holiday park we have stayed in during tour of South Island at $45 a night for a powered site and was so surprised to have no paper towels nor sanitiser in bathroom/toilets supplied
, but old cloth towels hanging for use by everyone!!!!!! So unhygienic and not value for the price. Although the sea can be lovely we spent a sleepless night due to the sound of very rough seas. We would suggest bypassing Greymouth as a place to stay and going 30 minutes south to Hokitika which is fabulous.
