We thought this place was great.

Friendly staff. Facilities were awesome. Good clean toilet and showers. Awesome locations beneath the soaring mountains in every direction. Kids had fun watching the keas in the morning.

This was our first time hiring a camper through Wilderness.

The whole experience was very easy from booking through the website to followup phone calls confirming booking details from their friendly staff. The pickup service from the airport was problem free. Bonnie arrived to pick us up and transport all our gear to the wilderness office in Christchurch. After a small amount of paper work we were shown around the camper that we would call home for the next 2 weeks. We had hired the Escape 4 which suited myself, my wife and our 2 children aged 5 and 3. Everything was modern and all in great condition. Bonnie ran us through the operation of the camper and between my wife and I we managed to retain all the instructions. We ended up getting the whole package which include zero excess, BBQ, camp chair and tables, snow chain and 5 DVDs which came in handy for the kids. We also hired 2 x bikes with kids seats which was great because there was plenty of family friendly riding around the South Island. As the Escape 4 was certified freedom camper we ended up spending a majority of our night in freedom camping location around the SI. My wife also found the camper easy to drive and didn't feel like it was to big to control.

All in all the whole experience with Wilderness Motor-homes was exceptional. Very highly recommended and I would look to recommend these guys to who ever was looking to do a camper van trip around New Zealand. The staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem. 10 out of 10
