I did a one hour flotation followed by a hot stone couples massage with my husband.
It was an overall very relaxing experience, and I would highly recommend it to someone who is looking to have a nice massage. Only drawback was that it was a bit overpriced.

High Country Horses

I did the two hour ride with these guys and was pretty disappointed.
The horses were fine, and the scenery is beautiful (like everywhere in Glenorchy and Queenstown), and I have to say it was pretty unique that the horses go across rivers. But even as an experienced rider, they made me wear a helmet, which I found a little annoying, and additionally, the guide treated us as if she was babysitting - she repeatedly yelled back to me to keep my horse in line, even though my horse had only deviated enough for it's face not to be in the next horse's butt; barely at all. I wouldn't recommend this company for experienced riders as they seem to only cater to people who have no clue what they're doing, but for inexperienced riders I think this would be a decent experience.
We have strict safety guidelines that every Trekking Company in New Zealand has to follow by LAW THEY HAVE TO BE WORN! If katie had wanted to do more fast work or not be in a line of horses, she may have had a better ride on other treks that we offer i.e Paradise View (3 hour) Full Day or Exclusive which are advertised intermediadte to experienced riders. Since Katie was NOT the only rider out there our guides need to keep everyone safe. Sorry it wasn't the experience you were expecting.

The scenery was incredible from 15,000 ft., and the staff made it very clear that safety is their first priority. Everyone was really friendly and helpful.

Coronet Peak Ski Area

I'm an inexperienced snowboarder, but the facilities at Coronet Peak are great and the easy hill is really good to learn on - enough people to learn how to avoid them, but not so many people that you can
't move. Almost every time I went up it was pretty icy, and it seems crowded on the other more difficult hills, so I would recommend checking out the other ski areas before sticking to this one.

The Remarkables Ski Area

I really enjoyed the Remarkables - I'm a new snowboarder so admittedly I only have Coronet Peak and Ohau to compare it to, but the snow was nice and powdery and nice, and it is way less crowded than Coronet
Peak. All around great experience.

It was really cold the day I decided to go, and even though my face was frozen, I had bundled up and was otherwise nice and toasty.
The ride was amazing!! We reached pretty high speed and were just barely missing the edges of rocks -- the drivers are very good at their jobs. Great experience!

Onsen Hot Pools

I went to the hot pools with my husband and we bought the romance package - a lot of the extra cost is for "candles" which are actually just little lights that look and flicker like candles, so the big
cost difference is from the flick of a light switch. Aside from that it was a great experience -- very clean and private, and a really nice view from the big door that you can open up into the scenery.

I am a flight student with these guys and they're amazing.
Their planes are well maintained, and the instructors are very experienced and friendly. When I started, I did their 40 min. intro. flight -- after we took off, the instructor let me take the controls and play around with the aircraft, which was great! Their website needs improvement, though.

Quite scary to stand at the edge, but the guys there make you feel a little more comfortable..then the fall itself had GREAT ground rush and was AWESOME!
I ended up doing a second swing with a different type of jump. An all around great experience.

Paraventures Paragliding School

These guys are the best paragliding instructors one could hope for.
Mark and Swanny (sp?) are both very patient and fun, and very willing to work with their students to make the experience more enjoyable. If you're in Queenstown, have an interest in learning how to paraglide, and get the chance to fly with them, do it!!
