We did not feel safe.
Stayed here around april, travelling around New Zealand with a motorhome and staying at a mix of camspites (DOC, Free and paid). This was actually the first/ only place we did not feel safe and uncomfortable. Arriving at the place it felt like an excellent place to stay, it is very nicely situated on the lake ( during the day frequently visited by families and popular for wake boarding). However after dark there were other businesses going on. People driving in and out, drinking at the place. So maybe we were unlucky however we would never stay here again.

Rented a motorhome (2007-8 Ford transit, 4 berth deluxe) with the two of us, 6 weeks from the beginning of March until half of April.
Highly recommended
Pick up in Christchurch and drop off in Auckland. After a lot of searching and on the internet we were very lucky we found this company. From the first contact with Lynda via email everything was arranged very well. We were doubting a bit because of the age of the motorhome, however it just turned out to be an excellent choice. As they design and build their own motorhomes they are really good made and still in very good shape even though they are a bit older. During the six weeks travelling we did not have any problem. The ford transit is an excellent strong base for this kind of motorhome and perfect for travelling around the new Zealand roads and mountains. They come fully equipped with everything you need. A major reason also to choose this motorhomes was the fact that I ( 1.93 m tall) could stand in it and this was the fact. Also the bed in the back ( we used the overhead bed for storage) was comfortable and big enough. Besides this (as their name says..) they are affordable compared with the major companies. So if you are looking for a motorhome and friendly service you should not look any further.
