HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Set on quiet grounds, only a short walk into town.
Friendly staff.
This site is perfectly clean, with modern facilities, laundry, kitchen and shower block.
I found the price more than fair for the facilities provided, and the showers were free despite other reviews saying different (maybe this is a peak season fee/charge).
With no complaints to give, this site is a must visit, even for visitors wanting to see Queenstown which is only a 15 min drive away.

Highly recommend this site.
Stunning grounds, with clean and well maintained facilities, hot showers for free, and well appointed kitchen for guests too. No WiFi, but no need as lots to keep you occupied with good walks, stunning scenery and nearby for Rangitata Rafts which is a must do.

A Fantastic Place.
Don,t overlook my review score as this place is a real gem.
Friendly, helpful staff.
Spacious grounds with stunning views.
Modest kitchen with TV.
Playground for the kids.
The only failing was the tired shower block, not only was the light on a short sensor timer but i had the weakest shower in my NZ trip, i even tried different showers to make sure i didn't pick a bad one, but they were all the same, my female companion agreed to the same in regards to the female block, not what you want in the cooler months of the year.
With a better maintained shower and toilet facilites and some minor site upgrades this site would be a rival for any camping ground in NZ, but it felt maybe the owners might be relying more on the stunning views than the basic needs of their guests, to get people in the door.
Thank you for your comments. I am not sure which shower block you were in but over the winter time we encourage our guests to use the portacom as we have gas hot showers with good pressure so I apologise if this was not pointed out. However, I do take on board your comments (thank you) and we will have a look into the pressure system and see what we can do. We realise that our facilities are old and we continue to do improvements each year. It is definitely a work in progress. Facebook will continue to show the updates etc so please feel free to like our page. Happy Travels.

Very Ordinary.
The best part of my stay here was when i left.
I am stunned by such high rating contradicting reviews for this camping ground.
Due to obvious prior disaster, all the original facilities block was fenced off, and un-used.
The replacement facilities were of the likes found on construction sites, made up of aluminium sheds consisting of toilets, showers, kitchen, and laundry.
The showers were hot but dirty, the same hygiene to be found in the kitchen, with un-cleaned counters and dripping taps (granted the kitchens condition was probably down to the residents, rather than the owners).
Despite the sad history regarding Christchurch and the earthquakes,it felt like this place was a temporary home for people made homeless by the disaster and i cannot overlook that the best thing for this site is to level it and rebuild it again or give up because it is failing on so many levels.

Could be better.
Well set out spaces for campers with easy access to power, waste and water.
Kitchen was ok, it needs to update or maintain some of its non-operating stove-tops but overall was clean and otherwise well equipped, and the same can be said for the showers, as these need some attention and updating, probably one of my least favorable showers of my trip around NZ campsites.Friendly staff. Overall i think with a little work this site could really shine, but as is at the time of this review could do better

Great Place.
Not much to review of the site.
Indoor shelter to eat meals out of the weather, and basic toilets with no working solar lighting at the time of our visit (a little difficult in the dark), and clean cold drinking water.
DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION could provide a little more for your $10 per person/ per night fee, however the walking tracks were very well maintained in the surrounding area, and this is where some of the fees go to.

Think Twice.
My experience here was less than fantastic.
As a tourist in a camper, this site feels like an overflow for low income live in residents from Invercargill.
The showers were hot and strong, but the overall shower block was a unpractical to use, could have been cleaner, but the free music did help some.
The kitchen was very poorly equipped with almost no utensils, even the locals were not pleased, dripping taps also.
Beware the winds from the west, and the noise form the nearby racing track.
The best part of my stay was exiting the site and looking at it in my rear view mirror.
Get your facts correct before you open your big gob! (Overflow from low income) what gives you the right to judge what other peoples incomes are - they are retired people who have spent a lot of money to live in their luxuries - motorhomes are expensive to own. The shower block has good quality showers, toilets, hand basins, hairdryer, hand drier, soap, what more do you need? How impractical is that! We find offence that you think it could have been cleaner as the facilities are well cleaned by ourselves and anything dirty would have resulted from current tourists using the facilities. The kitchen is for the use of campers and the utensils are made available but unfortunately throughout the season tourists steal the cutlery, plates, pots they want to keep. Sorry we are not God the wind would have been blowing anywhere in Invercargill. The racing track or cars do not have lights and do not race past 5pm and don't start until 10am and only have a handful of race meetings a year. I find your last comment offensive and bullying and shows us what type of people you are. You had a choice and we don't force anyone to stay if they do not appreciate our park. You should never book in if you had not wanted to stay. Reviews from other people are more realistic. Anyone reading this review are welcome to inspect our park prior to booking in.
