We had a so so stay at the place.
Facilities are ok but could do with better cleaning. The camp ground is close the the highway so noise 24/7. If you are looking for a place to rest a night this place is ok but would not recommend the camp ground if you actually plan to spend some time within it as there is nothing pleasant. I found most annoying that they have put up literally hundreds of signs/notes of do's and don'ts which made the place somehow very unfriendly.

Probably the best value for money campsite on the entire North Island!
Site is just off the main road on a nice green pitch. Large park with children playground and plenty of benches 1 minute walk away. Walking up to the high street where you can buy some groceries in the local supermarket is a 2 min walk. The site offers a hot shower cabin, toilet, exterior sink with electric plugs and that for only 5 dollars! To our astonishment the facilities were super clean and there was plenty of hot water! One could only wish there were more of such sites around NZ. Great thanks to the Woodville people and council for their hospitality and efforts made to provide such a great place!

Certainly the best camp ground we stayed during our holidays.
All facilities were top notch, well looked after and super clean. At check in reception made the booking for us over the internet so that I could profit from the child promotion price. Surely a Top 10 Holiday Park.
Thank you very much for the review Christian. We do our best for anyone who stays, Thanks again :)

Excellent camp site which makes you feel you are well away from civilization.
Site is large and has many trees around so plenty of shade on a hot day. Many tables scattered around where you can have your meals. Toilets are basic but all clean. There is a nice roofed outdoor kitchen area with sinks and BBQ to use. Loved to have a river right next to the site where my 7 year old boy had plenty of fun to play in. For Lord of the Rings Fans there is a 20 minute walk through the bush to visit the film set of Rivendell and that is all free of charge for a change! Unfortunately we run out of time and only stayed for a day. Wish I could have spend another couple of days to soak up nature.

A rather special place to get to as it feels quite adventurous driving up and down the mountains on a loose gravel road.
However the site is well worth it as it is surrounded by forest and has a little stream next to it. Not sure if you can bath in it although some people mentioned it is possible. Place has clean toilet facilities with cold running water. There are two large outdoor dining areas where you can light a fire. Supposed to book the site via a phone number but there is no mobile phone signal. We camped there anyway and although we saw the ranger passing in his car he did not stop to check. Saved 10 dollars although would not mind paying that if booking was made easier.

Obviously the best thing about this camping ground is its location.
Only a 20 minute bus drive to downtown Auckland. The camp site facilities are generally clean however they are old and surely have seen their best time. There are only 3 shower cubicles which is little. The lounge is adequate with large TV and some sofas to sit on. Again all could do with an upgrade. Camp sites are not more than a car park so don't unpack your camp table and chairs.
