The lady that was helping us to book bus tickets from Christchurch to Picton was extremely helpful.
She was very patient with all our questions. She also helped us book the ferry as well. Very helpful, courteous and informative.

The staff really knew their birds and reptiles.
They also know their animal's personalities very well and were very informative. It was obvious that the staff really care about animals in their care. I love that it is also a non profit organisation.

Really cool, spherical boulders along the beach.
Best seen at low tide. Makes beautiful photography. Also lots of tours groups stopping by. Might be difficult to get a good shot at times!

What not to love?
Digging own pool on the beach and soaking in hot water - free spa! It was neat to see that in certain areas, you can actually see the water boiling! Love it!

Small but well managed.
By the water which was nice, looks like they have upgraded some facilities. The manager was very nice and suggested activities around the area, like seeing the Yellow Eyed Penguins and what time to go and see the Moeraki Boulders.

Definitely go when it is good weather, it would be a lot easier and more things to see!
If you are up for a challenge, go like we did when it was raining sideways and super windy that most of the time we felt like we would get blown away! Still an awesome experience!!

Well worth the money, the guides were very informative and showed us things that usually only a full day tour get to see - cave and crevasse when available!

Discover More Cruise - worth the extra, not for the buffet lunch (though it was pretty good), but for the Discovery and Underwater Observatory.
The cruise around the Sound is pretty standard but the Observatory not only gave history of the Sound but also the creatures that you can see around here.
