Great views directly at the lake.
It is also directly at the street but in the evening and night there are almost no cars passing by. Clean flushing toilet.

Very convenient for start or end of the trip.
We stayed here during our last night before flying home from Christchurch. Therefore, we were happy to be close to the airport and to be able to put our remaining stuff in the leftover box instead of in the trash bin. Clean facilities and friendly staff.
Hi Julia - thank you for your review - great to your hear you enjoyed your stay for your final night in NZ and made the most of our free basket for future guests. Hope you had a great trip and safe flight home

Great views and a great place to stay.
No facilities. Close to Lake Matheson. We stayed there in March and have been the first ones when we arrived at 3.30pm and had plenty of time to enjoy the views. Until evening the place was full.

Very neat, clean toilets and free.
When we stayed there in March, there were some plans around about further development. Unfortunately, a lot of sandflies.

Very neat camping ground with very friendly owners.
The facilities are not the newest ones but very clean and we felt really comfortable. There is also a common room available where you can e.g. play some table tennis.

Great and clean facilities (soap, paper towels available).
Large and clean kitchen. The campground just has less charm than others due to missing views. But nevertheless, to stay there for a night is perfect.

Very convenient.
You can just walk into the city and also the Bluebridge Ferry Terminal is just a few minutes away. Also the times are great, you can stay from 10am to 10am, therefore you do not need to find another parking space for your day in Wellington before moving the south island. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Very close to Abel Tasman National Park.
Very helpful and friendly staff who also helps booking Water Taxi and Kayaking directly at the office of the campsite. The Aqua Taxi picked us up from the campsite - very convenient. There are alpacas and ducks around. Facilities are very clean. It just has less charm than other campsites we visited because of missing views from the campsite but well, there is the National Park around the corner :)

5.0/5
Amazing views of the lake and the mountains.
Initially, we wanted to stay at "The Pines" a bit more in the north of the lake but there was no camping ground on the coordinates given (that was the only time that the coordinates did not match). But we think many reviews of "The Pines" also fit to this camping ground. There is also a privy in the woods - but not recommended.

Great views, directly at the beach.
Very clean flushing toilet. Winery and restaurant "Elephant Hill" nearby where we had delicious dinner (not cheap but due to free overnight stay we could enjoy even more...). Many possibilities to buy fruit at the streets.

Excellent, very clean facilities (one of the best we've had during our holiday) - kitchen as well as toilets, showers and laundry.
We had a lot of space for our campervan on a flat grassy site. The owners are very friendly, helpful and take great care of their campground. Highly recommended.

Very clean facilities.
Helpful and friendly staff (in the campervan on the camp ground as well as in the Kiwi House just a few metres away. Unfortunately, there was a party going on at the sports field next to the camp ground in the night we stayed what was quite noisy. Quite close to the Waitomo Caves.

Campsite directly at the beautiful lake.
Clean flushing toilets, hot showers for 2$. Outdoor sink.
North Island ▷ Taupo Region ▷ Turangi ▷
3.5/5
Good facilities but quite expensive (44$ per night for two people on powered site) maybe due to very convenient location for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
Small space you get for the price.
