Near by to Hobbiton, it was a great free campsite which is a large area by the lake.
It rained all night we were there but no flooding and the campers all had plenty space.

Our last night was spent in this beautiful little town with this great campsite.
Very quiet camp with permanent campers too, its right on the beach in the view of Lion Rock. A really nice spot to spend our last evening of a great holiday. Try the Fish & Chips at the beach shack too, best we had in NZ

Beautiful.
pick your spot from the miles of Pine grounds, you wake up next to the fantastic Lake Pukaki and with a view of Mounts Cook and Sefton. One of our favourites from the trip, we could easily have stayed another night. Worth the hassle of driving up and down the road to find your fave spot

One of our favourite places from the trip, in a lovely little town called Marahau.
Great site for vans and tents, its walkable into the town, or to the many kayaking businesses, or just to the beach. Again a really nice quiet campsite with great facilities, shop and cafe. A great find especially as the site in Marahau is very full

A huge DOC run campsite/car park right under Mt.
Sefton. It is great for anybody looking to do anything in the Park that day or the next. Self Registration forms by the camp toilets

Small camp within walking distance to Farewell Spit and a 20 min drive to Karikari beach and the seal pups, though the drive is on completely gravel road, very rough on whatever your driving.
Camp was fine for the night, didnt use the facilities as we were self contained

Ok basically your paying $50 to stay in a car park on a very busy road but that car park is slap bang in the middle of Wellington.
If you want a quiet night before a ferry journey then this probably is not the camp for you. The road is very loud and we stayed on a Friday so the harbour area with bars and restaurants is very busy and a lot of people go past the camp on either side of it. Facilities (toilets & showers) were very clean and its great if your planning a night out in Welly, you havent far to go home!!

Probably the best camp in Waitomo, nice space for the van, huge campsite with top level facilities.
If your going to Waitomo, stay here. Local restaurant and bar/store very very near

A proper freedom site, go past the Lake Matheson turn and take the left right after the bridge.
Pretty empty when we were there though people were on the other side of the river too. One problem is that a storm hit that night and you are in what is basically the bed of a river. Somewhat worrying but the views are spectacular. Very very rough track to get there, for about the final 10 minutes

Spent 2 days here in the middle of March and we are so glad we did.
A fantastic site in a beautiful spot in the Bay of Islands. We were in a self contained van but everything was there for others too. Staffed by people genuinely in love with the place, it was one of our best spots of the trip

A great start to our campervan experience.
A fantastic welcome from the owners, great facilities, a beautiful beach opposite the campsite and only 5 mins away from Oamaru, Steampunk HQ and the Penguins. If your passing through, you won't do better than this place

Perfect campsite a 5 minute stroll from the centre of Queenstown and the Skyline lift.
Yes your tucked in neatly but it is a town centre. Facilities good and clean, used the dump station too, which wasnt easy to park up near but it was ok. Worth the money for the ease of which you can get to things in town. Staff hugely friendly
