Very nice campground.
20 NZD per person. Quite and clean with a lot of space between sites. Nice view on the river from all sites. Free and comfortable showers. Stayed 2 nights. Absolutely recommended!

You can walk through the tunnel (approx.
300m). You need water proof shoes and a headlight. At the end of the tunnel there are some glow worms. You have to return through the tunnel, no circuit. Very cool experience.

Totally worth it.

Good gravel road with several camp sites next to the lake.
After passing the power plant there is a toilet sign on left side. We took the next "exit" after and found a great place. There are about 4 private camp sites directly on the lake with view on Mt. Cook. We bought a whole salmon in the shop on the southern lookout next to the main road and cooked it in an improvised stone oven. Not to forget, the wonderful stars at night. Great experience.
