As is often the way in Queenstown this site charges more than it's worth for its facilities.
$10 per person per night. There are just 4 toilets (vault) and a few taps for water, no sinks to wash up dishes and no undercover areas. I have been to DOC sites which cost a lot less and been provided with more and better (flushing loos) facilities. You can't see the lake from the site and it can get quite crowded. Better than paying $36 for a site in QT though!

Clean(ish) and well equipped if small kitchen.
There seemed to be a lot of people permanently living here hence over crowding and no space in the fridges. The worst parts though were the price ($40) for an unpowered tent site in a small cramped walked area and the fact that this campsite lies right in between a busy main road and a busy train line. Noisy diesel engines go past almost hourly - you will not sleep through this in a tent!

Lovely site, beautiful setting on the lake.
Clean toilets and sinks for washing up. Gets very busy though so get there early to bag a space especially if you are in a tent! It does get very cold at night too!

Our first experience of a DOC site and we loved it!
Clean, flushing toilets, lovely lake side setting and plenty of space to choose a pitch away from the main road. There was also an undercover area to cook and wash up which was amazing as it rained hard the evening we got there!

Favourite campsite of our three month trip so far!
Amazing views, peaceful site, friendly owners, clean hot showers all for $8.50 per person. Loved it!

Tired and run down facilities but everything did work as it should!
Site location is not that good, no views etc but was nice and quiet and owners very friendly. After staying in other camps with better facilities I would say this one is overpriced. Good for a night stop after biking in the Pisa range.
Hi Adam
Each year we do chip away at upgrading and improving our facilities and camp area, however we are only allocated a small amount of funds to do this.
We try to keep our prices in line with similar holiday parks, we don't have coin operated showers or timers on them.
Ultimately , we unfortunately do not own the camp so are to some degree limited on what we may and may not do with the buildings.
As the camp is surrounded by mature poplar trees a view is sometimes difficult, I appreciate that, however there are some spots in the camp you would have been directed to if you had asked for a view. Thanks for your comments.

Small site, seemed to have been filled over capacity.
Easy distance from town though and clean facilities, shower, kitchen etc.
Thank you for your feedback. It has been a great summer for our very popular park and at this time of year we have been busy. I'm glad you found the facilities and location great. We hope to see you again in the future.

Facilities dated and tired.
Facilities dated and tired. Not all hobs or toasters working in kitchen or washing machines working in laundry room. Pitches were very close together with no real boundaries. Showers were nice and hot but there were lots of dead flies in the restrooms, I think attracted by the lights at night. The first night we were there we were kept awake by a disco at the nearby rugby club, it went on until 3am! Nice and close to town though, the price you pay.......

Clean and tidy site, very quiet when we were there.
Huge kitchen. $25 for the two of us for a night, the friendly owner took pity on us having to set up our tent in the rain and let us stay in the bunk house for the price of a tent pitch - winning!

Great little site, great facilities, large kitchen, flat pitches, best showers I have been in yet in our three month tour.
Friendly owners and a lovely quiet site with just a few touring cyclists stopping for a night at a time. We used this site to stay at whilst we went mountain biking in Alexandra as the site there has really poor reviews!
