Best park in five weeks in the South Island.
Best shower we had since leaving home. Friendly, comfortable park. Felt like home. Fantastic views, fantastic setting. Friendly Wekas.

Excellent park.
Beautifully clean & well kept facilities. We don't often use the kitchen/lounge facilities but these were so inviting we couldn't resist. Pity it was so wet we couldn't take advantage of some of the local walks. Recommend this park to others.
Hi Sally - thanks for your grand review, the beach and rain forest walks are magical and it is a shame the weather curtailed your ability to enjoy them. Hopefully you can return sometime and explore them in sunshine. Take excellent care, Cheers Jude

Beautiful spot.
Everything except the public toilet was locked up for winter. At $17 for two was a little expensive just for the privilege of parking on the property. Several other vans & campers stayed just outside and came through in the morning and used the toilet facilities.

Great little camp ground.
Friendly manager. Good clean facilities. $1 showers seem to go forever. Very fast WiFi.

Lovely spot.
Plenty of room, facilities were good. No caretaker on site had to place fee through cat door.

Beautiful little campground in neat, lovely garden surrounds.
Facilities were very clean & well looked after. Very friend, helpful owner. Were the only van in the park and had a very pleasant, peaceful night.

Lovely scenic grounds.
Basic toilets but clean. Great hot shower. Extremely friendly man who collected our fees. Biggest problem was the arrival well after dark of about 4 - 5 noisy cars hooning around us & up and down all the tracks and tearing up the lawns. It was very frightening as we were the only campers there & had no phone coverage.

Very friendly little camp.
Facilities basic, but clean and worked well. Great kitchen, well stocked with crockery & cooking utensils. Told we could stay as late as we liked the next day.

Large area.
Easy to find a quiet spot. Great for self-contained vehicles. Not too far to drive back to Mt Cook Lookout for good clean toilets, if necessary.

After reading the reviews we thought this would be ideal after a long days drive in the rain.
The 'open' signs were out when we arrived about 3.30pm on 12 May. Cafe etc was all locked up. We had a look around for a powered site (as the sign on the door said) but could not find one. The only toilet we could find was dirty, had not been cleaned. Left and drove to Invercargill.
Sorry to hear about your wet day Sally
I’m not sure what open signs would have been out, as the 12th of May was a Tuesday, and the café isn’t open Mondays and Tuesdays, unless you mean the ice cream flags on the road side. We leave these out to help promote our place, because we need to improve out street signage and are designed to be permanently on display.
We will check the directions to the powered sites to try to make easier to follow, but others have managed to find them when we haven’t been home.
As we both work in town full time we are unable to check the toilets until we get home.
Sorry again we missed you, but we hope you found somewhere else nice to stay.

Seems to be confusion among reviewers between Lake Alexandrina site and Lake McGregor site.
We drove to the end of the road, presumably Lake Alexandrina. A nice quiet litttle camp ground, obviously used by fishermen in season. Long drop toilets were basic & clean, with cleaning materials supplied. For $10 for two it was great place to stay.
