Could have been one of the best campgrounds we've been during our three month trip through NZ.
Facilities are clean, hot showers for free as well as the town Wifi ($18 per person powered/tent site). Unfortunately they charged $10 for our 8-month-old baby. Not one campground ever charged the baby and they wanted that much money although there are no extra facilities like a baby bath. For us that was just money making.

The setting is pretty nice with some easy walkways around the area.
The facilities are DOC-standard except that you have drinking water from a tap. But $13 NZD per person is well overpriced. If you compare that for example to Shakespeare Regional Park than it's not worth the money.

For that price (6 NZD p.p.) you get excellent facilities in a beautiful setting.
Great day-walks around the peninsula. Good opportunities to swim in the sea since it's very still here. Great view across the bay to Auckland skyline. Self-contained area and camping area (incl. vehicles). Showers and dump point available at camping ground.
Beware: On weekends it can be very crowded since it's so close to the city. And it can get quite windy.
