Lovely little site only a short drive from the Te Puia hot spring beach armed with shovels supplied by Grant.
Very quiet site (apart from neighbouring dogs early morning chorus!!) surrounded by permanent caravans and lodges. Dated facilities but clean and have had recent coat of paint. But dunno what Grant has done with the picnic tables.... they were sticky!!! Sit on something!

Great location right by the beach but due to dune/hill little view of the beach.
Clean, tidy, friendly site. Isolated water taps on site and dump point for motorhomes just outside. Sheltered tables next to the site overlooking the beach - saw a lot of campers taking their breakfasts up there to see the sea!!
Thank you for your positive comments about our service and what Opunake beach has to offer. We enjoy delivering a great experience for our guests and we firmly believe that excellent service is the way to do it! We shall look forward to welcoming you and your family again.
Kind regards Clare Ngatai and the team

Clean site next to hot pools.
Facilities tired but there is a note to say they will be upgraded!! Wasn't at all busy in Feb and we chose pitch 75 with view across to lake. Bistro restaurant attached to Hilton very good and one can watch the sunset from it - book a window side seat. It is some 4kms from town so u will need to drive or get taxi - $16-17 each way. MUCH cheaper pro-rata if you stay two nights.

Let down by the scruffy and unkempt gents facilities -peeling paint and cobwebs...the ladies were spotless!!
Location 10/10 and all sites have a beach view. Access to beach via a wade across river or pontoon. Sandy beach probably not safe for swimming - some big waves!! Friendly reception. Very quiet, just the sound of the waves....

Clean long drops x 2.
Plenty of space and choice of parking camping areas. Some sites have been gravelled, maybe better drained. Approach no problem with 7.5m long motorhome. They have reprofiled/regraded first 100m. Swing wide into entrance of approaching from East!! Swimming n paddling in river.

Clean and tidy site with own thermal pools and cooler swimming pool.
Helpful staff will book up trips for you. Sure there is some traffic noise but you are within easy walking distance of the town centre!! Free limited wifi with Top Ten card and we got 10% off the hangi/Maori village trip. Nice park next door with thermal features. Still found all this steam and bubbling pools randomly around the town really weird!
I'm glad you have left a review. We now offer free wifi and are glad you got to experience the Hangi and Concert.
Thanks for taking the time to make a review
Cheers

Small, clean, friendly family run site on edge of Martinborough next to vineyards.
VERY quiet at night. Had nice pitch with views across adjacent field.
Only passing thru so missed experiencing the town or any vineyard tours.

Town centre car park close to the CBD and shops with waterside location and harbour views.
You couldn't get a better location for 50 bucks a night incl. electric.
Really friendly n helpful staff. We soon got used to the traffic. The only downside was the ferry which docked and left engines rumbling at 02:00 in the morning!!! But soon drifted off and had good nights sleep. Fresh water available but no camper service station. Very nearby restaurants in the revitalised dockside area.

Awesome but exposed site, particularly in the 40mph winds and rain we experienced, but what a stunning location.
Seemed to be parking for campers all along this section although we parked up at Sea Scouts/marina end.

Lovely walk down from the Cable Car terminus thru lush and signed and signposted gardens.
As in all NZ, tea room closes early -you have been warned!!

Fast efficient welcome to a clean large site.
Plenty of space but they don't allocate your pitch so we had to fight a couple of late arrivals off ours and neighbours pitch!!
Nice views across entrance road to inland sea, but it's a good ten minute walk from the beach although the beach is huge and fab and haven for dogs n kite surfers.

Booked crossing to Wellington for us and showed us variety of wine tours. Even got thru to book a guided tour in Napier that I had been struggling with and just passed me the phone -simples!!!

Sure it's a bit noisy compared to some sites but you can walk into the town centre from here.
Clean and tidy. Plenty of room for our 7.5m long camper. Friendly efficient staff booked wine tour for us to be collected and returned to the site.

Fabulous location!!
You WILL need to book (we didn't) :-( to save yourself the 8km drive down the windy access road, but worth it just for visiting Cable Bay.

We loved this quiet beachside site just off SH6 north of the Pancake Rocks.
Pitches are a bit vague, but hey, we managed!!
