Much too crowded on new years eve!
Expensive and with additional const for showers. But facilities were clean.

A good stay for the night.
A big car park with enough space. If you are lucky you can also have access to the toilets of the toilets of the nearby sports center.

A wonderful place with a superb view of Mt Cook!
It is not that crowded as Lake Pukaki Overnight Campervan Parking. RECOMMENDED!

A wonderful place with a superb view of Mt Cook!
This spot would get 10 of 10, if "The Pine" haven't been better.

A great (german) car rental.
We had a SleeperVan (Toyota Estima Lucida) which brought us nearly everywhere (7000 km) within 30 days. The great advantage of this car is the "Selfcontained" certification which allows you to stay everywhere (if it is not explicitly prohibited). If you do not need a hot shower every day you can stay for free (or less then 20$) at wonderful places directly at the beach/sea, wonderful lakes and rivers or enjoy the alpine panorama at a quiet uncrowded spot of your choice. With a huge storing space and a built in kitchen you are very flexible.
And if you think this review is overstated ... try it out yourself!
Thanks for your review Manolis. You did a lot of kilometres and as you explained it is a real advantage to have a self-contained camper. There are a lot of possibilities to stay for free overnight. We think that you had the cheapest experience to see New Zealand with the most freedom you can get.
