Huge camping and not known at all.
Last km is an easy gravel road. Big lake for jetski, boats and kayaking. Very peaceful and quiet. Clean toilets, even though they were supaloos (toy toy).

What more do you need? Big camping ground on both sides of the river, one has a concrete toilet and facilities block.

Great starting point for multi day hikes into Fiordland. Cabin huts are free if you reach them after hiking. Two toilets.

Gravel road and private sheep farms have to be crossed but no problem with a van in summer. Lots of sandflies around so bring your repellent.

Perfect beach spot for campervans.
Lots of surfers around. Outdoor shower available. Clean toilets. Donation of 5 $ goes to locals (fire brigade, school). This is how it should be!

No gravel road to cross. It can be busy and thus loud and dirtier facilities. Not the best if you want to relax for the day. 10 $ /pp

One of the best campsites we found.
The 6km gravel road is easily done with a van. The site has an on site manager. 10 $ pp. You can stay as long as you want the next day. The lake is clean and good for swimming. It can get hot during the summer so it's a perfect way to cool down.
