Stayed one night in our little van and that was plenty.
Sloping car park (although I think the random planks are to lift one side up), the building itself is tired and stinks of stale smoke, random people coming and going at all hours. The three stars are for it being secure(ish) parking, central location (10minutes or so walk from main shops), and a hot shower. $15 pppn

Stunning spot!
Right on the beach. Big place with plenty of space but busy when we went in Jan. Clean toilets although only two available (not sure why they built such a big block and only put two toilets in it?!). Tap outside the toilets is push button with no hose connection. We did a cycle wine tour from here, absolutely ideal.

Really close to the road so quite noisy.
No EFTPOS, cash only and $17pp for a powered site. Really clean facilities, good showers, friendly staff and simple large kitchen (no pots or utensils provided). 400m walk to the beach. Ok for a stop before Napier but personally wouldn't stay for more than a night (have a look at the amazing free spots South of Napier!). Some really great fruit and vege places around to stop for a shop.

Beautiful spot.
You can park literally right up to the lake, nice shady trees and far enough away from the road you can't hear it. Simple toilets, no water that we saw (other than in the lake!). Plenty of space for big and small busses. Loses a few points because of the 7am wake up to powerboats water skiing on the lake, they didn't finish until after dark 9.30pm the previous night.
