4.5/5
One of the best camping we stayed.
Very high value for money, nice facilities (hot shower!), nice walk nearby and close to Christchurch
North Island ▷ Auckland Region ▷ Auckland ▷

The registration is really inconvenient (phone the council, fill in the details, get the gate number, etc.) but the campground is one of the best we stayed on.
We spend our last night here, beautiful sunset, good facilities and well maintained
South Island ▷ Mount Cook - MacKenzie ▷ Twizel ▷
4.5/5
Of all the holiday parks we stayed on this one was the closest to town center.
Very clean and good facilities. Price was average for this type of campsites. Very nice walks in the area and close to the Mount Cook region. Free wi-fi at the coffee bar in town center
South Island ▷ Fiordland ▷ Manapouri ▷
5.0/5
This is how a campsite should be.
Not too large, very lovely facilities, good atmosphere, nice plants and above all...a good working Wi-Fi connection to keep your friends and family updated. If you are planning to stay in Te Anau, just take the drive to this campsite and have a nicer time

3.0/5
Quite costly, and had to pay for showers as well.
Location is very nice
North Island ▷ Taranaki ▷ Stratford ▷
4.0/5
Very good campsite and a nice price.
Close to Mount Taranaki region.

Quite costly, but very well maintained and clean campsite.
Very nice location at the beach
North Island ▷ Ruapehu ▷ Taumarunui ▷

Very well maintained and nice campground.
We only stopped here for the night. Kitchen and facilities relatively small.
South Island ▷ Marlborough ▷ Picton / Marlborough Sounds ▷
4.0/5
Small, but very nice spot!
If you arrived in Picton and want to explore the Marlborough Sounds this would definitely be a good first stop. Do not expect too much of the toilet though...
South Island ▷ Wanaka Region ▷ Wanaka Township ▷
3.0/5
Not that close to Wanaka (10 min drive to center) and quite exposed to wind.
Nevertheless fine basic campground
South Island ▷ Queenstown Region ▷ Glenorchy ▷
3.0/5
The sites could be better maintained, quite muddy in the rain and quite some inclination.
Lake Sylvan campground would be the better option in the area
South Island ▷ Kaikoura Region ▷ Kaikoura ▷
3.5/5
Nice place but quite costly if you don't want to use the camping facilities.
You can not self register so you need to drive to the Goose Bay Camp
South Island ▷ Mount Cook - MacKenzie ▷ Lake Tekapo ▷
2.5/5
The campsite would be wonderful if not for the atmosphere of desolated caravans and dirty facilities.
I would love to pay a bit more if the facilities and the spots would be upgraded since the location is stunning and there are not many alternatives around Lake Tekapo
South Island ▷ Wanaka Region ▷ Wanaka Township ▷
4.0/5
Great camping spot, we stayed the nights before on Albert Town campground and came here for the showers, which are coin operated nonetheless the typical holiday park price.
Wished we stayed more nights since it is closer to Wanaka than Albert Town and it is worth the higher price. Sites are quite sheltered in trees and birds are ready to pick your food which is cool
South Island ▷ Queenstown Region ▷ Glenorchy ▷
3.5/5
Beautiful spot, when we were there, there were no envelopes.
The location stars as Isengard in Lord Of The Rings
South Island ▷ Fiordland ▷ Te Anau ▷
4.0/5
Very remote but beautiful place.
Quite a drive, so only worth of it if you stay for a few days and you want to explore the area
North Island ▷ Rotorua Region ▷ Rotorua ▷
3.5/5
The pools were not working when we were there but for the rest it was quite a nice place.
Bus to Rotorua center stops nearby and it was nice that there was a small restaurant as well
North Island ▷ Tairāwhiti Gisborne ▷ Lake Waikaremoana ▷
4.0/5
Just a stunning location.
Campsite is quite large and has very good facilities. When we were there it was quite cold and drizzling, some sheltered sites for small vans and sheltered walkways would be a good investment.
South Island ▷ Mount Cook - MacKenzie ▷ Omarama ▷
3.0/5
Quite pricy when compared to the DOC sites.
When we were there in November 2014 we were the only ones and could not find the toilets at first (it was quite hidden in the trees). Scenery is beautiful. Campsite itself could be better maintained, it was quite muddy and there is quite some inclination on the terrain
North Island ▷ Wairarapa ▷ Ngawi ▷
4.5/5
Quite surprised it was not better mentioned in all travel guides, since this place was just stunning!
Not only a movie set, but pretty intimidating landscape (Putangirua Pinnacles). Nice sunset as well, and also take the drive to Cape Palliser if you are here, it is totally worth it
North Island ▷ Coromandel ▷ Thames ▷
4.0/5
Our first experience with DOC sites, which proved to be very convenient and well maintained.
We stayed on the farthest campsite, to the start of the daywalk to the Pinnacles. Very nice experience!
North Island ▷ Hawkes Bay ▷ Napier ▷
4.0/5
Very well maintained and very clean.
Close enough to Napier and to the main roads. Would definitely stay here again
North Island ▷ Manawatu - Wanganui ▷ Whanganui River ▷

If you are only planning to stop for the night and have no kids I would skip this campsite since it is quite costly and crowded with playing childeren.
Quite far from town center.
North Island ▷ Ruapehu ▷ Tongariro / National Park Village ▷
4.0/5
Very nice place, quite sheltered but still the feeling of a campsite.
Even in October it was quite crowdy so I would wonder if you would be able to find a spot in summer. One of the best DOC sites we stayed
North Island ▷ Wellington Region ▷ Hutt Valley ▷
4.0/5
Huge camping area, but very good facilities and nice scenery nearby.
Close to Wellington. Ranger picks up the cash and your rubbish!
North Island ▷ Hawkes Bay ▷ Tutira ▷
4.5/5
Fees are on donation, and what a fantastic place this was!
Birds and sheep keep you company. We got a beautiful morning with mirror reflection of the landscape in the lake, just stunning...
South Island ▷ Nelson Region ▷ Mapua ▷
3.5/5
Can be quite crowded, especially with kids, but very nice campground.
Facilities were working but quite old. Caretaker collects your cash and rubbish bins are provided. Good stop if you want to explore Abel Tasman National Park next day
South Island ▷ West Coast ▷ Greymouth ▷
4.5/5
One of the best campings we stayed, we spend two days in the rain here but that did not wash away our spirits!
Especially the shelters for the campers were very convenient, and the facilities were top-notch.

Sleepavanz has brought a very nice and well serviced budget camper.
Although the car was quite old and had some miles on the clock, it drove very well and had a very good experience in it. Especially the non-sleep interior set-up (in which have a L-shaped couch) proved very convenient. I would definitely recommend this company, for the price and service I think it is the best budget solution. On the way we got a lot of compliments of Kiwi's on having such a nice van, as compared to some of the others. We changed linnen on the way and were provided with new tires as well to complete our in total 7500 km journey!
