We did this as kids just wanted to try jet boating and not spend a fortune, they loved it!
Also did the schweeb cycle monorail which was brill too. family package was good value as We could do 6 ActivIties between us for. 159 dollars.

Interesting museum covering the history of the ship all over the world.
Makes you realise how different things were before air travel and cargo ships of today. Then to see the size of the bunks inside too was fascinating for my kids. Definitely worth exploring if you have time in Picton.

We went in light rain as walk is in the woods so not too wet.
Lots of tracks of different lengths and fun natural sculptures for the to the kids to find. Beach has lots of shells too.

Golden Bay Flights

We got to fly over fabulous Abel Tasman park and see all the beaches from the sky.
Then pilot circled the place we'd been staying as we asked for this and she was happy to do this too. Got to see the whole area really well in the 30 min flight. Flexible with times etc even though we only phoned to book that morning.

We spent two nights in cottage in idyllic location and got to see lots of pengiuns up close and coming up the rocks in the evening.
Kids really enjoyed it all too. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Whilst kayaking we saw dolphins and seals too, again they came really close to us so it was fantastic. Overall very good value trip and felt pretty isolated and wild but only a short trip from Christchurch.
