This carpark is only for self-contained vehicles, which is also being supervised.
It is just a simple parking area without any toilets. Right next to the street it can be a little it noisy, when a truck gets by. But nevertheless ok, when you just stay for one night.

4.0/5
We had to stay in Haast because the road (on to Queenstown) had been closed.
The campsite is not one of the prettiest I have seen, but it is tidy and clean. There is a kitchen and lounge, which is well equipped and heated. For a seven minute hot shower you pay 50 cents, which is ok, cause 7 minutes are more than enough! Staff at reception was very friendy.

Very friendly staff (John) who showed us around very thoroughly.
Very green campsite, also very calm. Good facilities; laundry and a very well equipped kitchen with sitting room, TV, etc. Balclutha itself is not a very exciting town, but allright on the way through
Thanks for your comments Sina, we have put up a photo board of things to see and do in the camp so people can find things a bit easier.

Went there because we wanted to stay for one night but couldn't find the spot.
There were no signs (except for some saying "No camping allowed").

A very huge but calm camping site close to the beach.
Toilets but no showers. A walk to the beach could be great, saw dolphins really close to the beach when we went for a walk.

This is a very nice place to stay when visiting Queenstown.
We stayed for two nights. A little stream runs through the campsite. We could choose which site we want to have. The facilities (all in container) were clean. The've got laundry and kitchen and also a lounge.
South Island ▷ Mount Cook - MacKenzie ▷ Twizel ▷
4.5/5
A great campsite, but not so easy to find.
There is no sign telling you that it is a campsite. It's got lots of space and great views to Mount Cook and the lake.
There is a toilet, which is hidden in the little forest.
Many people who stayed there for the night.

We just loved it here!!
A little paradise! Such a beautiful camping site, very calm and lovely!!
A very well equipped kitchen!
It has lots of animals like peacocks, rabbits, etc. and also a trampoline which makes it also perfect for kids.

It would be such a great camping site if it wasn't so crowded.
The lake is very nice and the surroundings are just beautiful. But because it's the last campsite before Milford Sound so many people want to stay there. Not enough space for that!! Toilets are stinky and really not nice!!! LOTS of sandflies!! Wouldn't want to stay there again.

A really great camping site directly at a lake.
Great views!! It's is a bit outside of Rotorua, very calm. Facilities are ok, laundry, kitchen, etc.

Great parking space just next to the sea and beach.
It is a simple place with space for several campervans, but only self-contained ones, although there are toilet facilities. Quiet and one of our favourite spots!!
