One of the best spots we have camped so far.
Toilets OK, but its free and right next to the Ocean, not even mentioning wild seals in the sorrounding area.

Excellent spot, the kind Lady (owner) even waited for us until 11pm after we sprinted from Festival of Lights in New Plymouth.

Very nice location with clean facilities.
We were in the camp alone, and the sunny morning near the lake was amazing - birds singing and everything. Very pleasant place to stay overnight.

I know, I know it's free.
But, horribly exposed location in the centre of the town. Two drunk locals actually woke us up at 3:00 am asking for a cigarette. Since they would not leave, they forced us to relocate to Firmin Field (another free site, which I googled. It is not listed on rankers, but looked much safer, altough the toilets were out of order.

Campsite is great.
But it would be worth mentioning, that the access road from Kawerau closes after 7pm. We were not able to get to the camsite for the first night due to that.
