I did this to get more information about Maori and there it is not so good.
It is very interesting to learn about their singing and dancing and the people doing it are very funny and lovely. Also the food tastes great. If you are looking for good food and entertainment go for it. But I heard that there is a better place on the West Coast of the South Island.

This cheap DOC campsite is so beautiful.
You can pitch your tent in a way that the first thing you see in the morning is the beautiful ocean. Showers are bad. Connected to walks.

It was very nice to cruise the Bay of Islands and it was the first time I saw dolphins.
But I think it is pretty expensive and you are pretty far away from the dolphins and there are plenty of 'Holes in the Rock' in the South Island.

In this village you can find everything from the early days.
Original old houses, a church and train etc. Also computers, cameras and the first fridge. The people are so lovely and show you around.
For a full experience enjoy a guided tour.

This museum is too much for one day.
It has so many different themes, explained in a very good way. I spent two days exploring Maori history and so much more. Perfect for information, fun and a rainy day.

It is just a meadow with a toilet and shelter but it is located perfectly if you want to get up early to watch the sunrise from the East Cape Lighthouse.

After a lot of talking with the visitor centre, and an ok or with some experience, climb the mountain when the weather is fine.
Very exhausting but the feeling at the top is awesome. You can see the South Island (bring lots of clothes) do not underestimate it!!!

A beautiful place and lovely guides who knew a lot.
If you love Lord of the Rings it is definitely worth it. I am not that much into Lord of the Rings but I enjoyed it even though it is quite expensive.

This walk is awesome especially with good weather and views!
You see the beautiful and different landscapes of volcanoes. It is exhausting at some points but quite easy to do (if not windy).

Very nice people, helping you with planning trips and everything else.
They also have a very good exhibition about the Mt Taranaki.

They are big and very busy.
But still very friendly and helpful. The lady took the time to advise us on which walks we should do with a lot of photos and personal experience. Thank you!
