There were neat facilities near the area and the free wifi was great.
In the morning the town has a great feel we went behind and took photos of the old trains there is also a dump station which was super helpful in the morning. I would recommend arriving early on so you could have a good spot. There is a Chinese takeaway, with great tasting food and very friendly owner, near by and a Four Square Market right in the front so that's really helpful. Overall fantastic place to stay would definitely recommend it for people who need a good rest either before or after Milford Sound.

We came here in the night at about 9 pm and we were quite happy to find a camping spot.
Great access and an alright view. Not many facilities but has many nice open spots for campers. Another great factor about the location is that there are many trees and a river near by. Although it is close to the road it is a great place to stop if you are tired or have been driving very late.

We came here quite late in the night, it was the only place we could find after traveling, we didn't want to drive to late in the night.
We woke up in the morning greeted by a fantastic view. Although it was near the highway it wasn't very noisy in the night. Me and my wife decided to take a walk while the kids stayed in the camper watching a movie. The view was fantastic after the 1 hour walk, I would highly recommend going on the hike. Overall a decent place to stay at if near the Wanaka area.

As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a fantastic view of the lake.
Soon after parking our camper van we got out chairs and had a cup of coffee. My younger son decided to go and take a chair on top of one of the rocks. He had a good view and overall he loved it.

We came here on our fifth day, only because we did the Hooker Valley Track and wanted to go to Lake Camp.
This is a fantastic spot to camp because of the excellent views and also because the lake is very beautiful. The facilities were clean. Beware though, because there was enough wind to topple our chairs, and the cold combined with the wind made it freezing. Overall a fantastic camp to come to. We like stargazing, but due to the weather, it wasn't possible.

A great place to stay with children or not.
We came here after our children selected this spot using the Rankers app. Best decision we ever made in New Zealand. The owner was extremely outgoing and kind, not to mention helpful, we met this random stranger who sent us the right way for warm showers, she used kind phrasing. Even the cleaner was nice! (She looked like the winter had left her very unhappy) very clean, they even have a free to play Xbox. I really could not ask for anything more than this. Don't miss it.

We planned a lot about this place but after we reached at 8:00 we were nothing short of disappointed, the 32 km gravel road is a pain and the result is not worth it.
Don't camp here unless this is the only option.

We went with wilderness the first time in October 2014 and we just could not resist the temptation to go again in July 2015 .What can I say that has not been said by other reviewers, the fact that we choose
Wilderness again with in 10 months of our first trip again would be testament enough for what they bring to the table. Outstanding service and attitude across whether it was Christchurch or Auckland.
We had a couple of vehicle issues nothing that could not be set right quickly or did not matter and they were really prompt with the follow-up.If at all the one suggestion that I would have is that the campers need to have a bit more power in the engine. It was very easy for the wheels to loose traction over even the slightest slippery surface and we had to be very cautious with the surface that we were camping on. Not to say that we were slipping around on the roads or turns but just that if you were at a slow speed on a unpaved surface you needed to be very careful.
