A pretty nice spot in the middle of a forest.
But was a bit old. Lots of on-site caravans for locals who spent the summer there, but very quiet when we were there. The campsite is for sale, and has been for many years, so it seems like the owners don't really bother to keep the place up to date. We didn't like the cost of $1 to take a shower - they should just as the cost to the site-price. We paid $38 for 2 adults and one child (3 years old). Also don't count on the dam for a swim. When we were there on the 15th December it had no water in it. Call and check before booking. It was nice with all the wild rabbits on the site. Great Walt I Naseby forest. But it has no signs so bring a GPS to find your way.

What a great spot.
We are traveling in a caravan without toilet and shower so it was a blessing to have a private "box" with both shower and toilet. The owner is very friendly and helpful. There were a lot of people staying at this site waiting to catch a fish at the lake. 15 min drive from Lake Benmore Dam (NZ's second largest Dam).

A very nice campsite.
We had a great view of the lake from our spot and the BBQ area is amazing. There is a great hot pool area 500m from the campsite and the price for the hot pools is 22$ for a whole day. We stayed 2 nights.
