Amazing place!
Stunning rock formations and the blowholes were super cool. Definitely recommend stopping here for the short walk!

Kawatiri Beach Reserve – Westport

Awesome spot overlooking the beach with cows for neighbours.
Doesn't look like much of a freedom camping area but the small patch of gravel to the right of the track leading to the beach was sufficient enough. The views were awesome and was great watching the locals walk there dogs NZ style along the beach(by car and by modified scooter to be pulled by two huskies). We recommend it and suggest you watch the sunset.

Amazing freedom camping spot!
Difficult to find if coming from christchurch direction so for future campers coming in that direction wait until u see the bridge and then there is a turning on urn right just before. Site was beautiful and lake pukaki is stunning especially at sunrise! This spot was a highlight of our trip!
