Completely in the dark, just with a torch you can feel on your own.
You walk slowly to discover this cave and see glowworms. It is really the adventure. Be prepared to be wet.

Very good spot next to the river and lovely staff.
You get everything you need for $18 per person (powered or unpowered). Everything was clean and tidy.

For $10 per person you have a hot shower, a kitchen with a fridge and even powered sites!
Everything was clean. You are also very close to the Kauri Forest where you can try your luck at night and spot a kiwi.

Good prices including ferry ticket.
You can change the date for free. Many places where you can pick and drop off your car including free airport transfer. The car was a little bit old but in good condition.

They do not have many kiwis.
Probably 5-6 bit you see one, two or three at a time. I was a little disappointed because it was the main reason of my visit. Otherwise they have many bird species.

Prices are correct, $8, cheap compared to other activities!
The place is great. It is very impressive to see all the fumeroles and to hear mud bubbling. Good explanation as well.

The first part (45 minutes) to the falls was nothing special but the way back following the river with multiple crossings is really great.
Be prepared to get wet as there is no bridge. Lots of fun! 3 hours return.

Excellent tramp with beautiful landscapes.
We started for 'the end' and walked up to the Red Crater and came back to avoid $30 per person for the shuttle bus. We started at 7am it was perfect (no one) but way more crowded on the way back!

Basic campsite in the middle of a grass field.
The facilities were very clean. May not be easy to find, from Whakamaru turn right (there is a sign about Mangakino Moto X park), you have to pass a gate and then there is the camping. There is an entrance opposite the toilet block.
