Sadly this site is in the middle of being renovated.
Therefore the facilities were not up to standard and we moved site without staying.
It is in a good location but will need to improve.

Ace spot.
Would be 10/10 except for the sandflies.
Saw a pod of Hector dolphins playing in the breakers.
Great views of the sea over the sand dunes.

Great to see the penguins.
But we got really, really cold waiting for them. I suggest you go, but wrap up warm if in winter.

We always felt safe and secure. A magnificent way of seeing the caves and their glow worms.
Highly recommended.

Didn't do the village tour, but did visit St Faith's in the village.
It has an amazing engraved glass window that depicts Jesus as a Maori walking on the water.
The church is full of Maori carvings.
Well worth a look.

Fantastic location for exploring Wellington.
Facilities limited but clean, tidy and professional.
Expensive for a car park, but worth it.

Good little walk.
There are better free walks in Rotorua, but if that's not possible then this is good.
Lovely staff.

Really loved this site.
Enjoyed using the hot pool complex.
Sites were well spaced and we were lucky enough to be able to see the lake from our camper.
Recommended.

Good varied walk, but not sure I should have gone out of my way to see a distant glacier which took some imagination to get excited about.

A small site which was great for us in the winter.
Well placed for us to explore the nature around the area.
When full the facilities, which were clean and very good, might not cope with lots of guests.
Great food at the Café 1908 in the village.
We found the site exceeded our expectations and recommend it to those looking to explore the peninsula.

Really helpful staff who could answer my questions about the ferry.
Facilities all okay.
Pitch was grass and as it was pretty wet a hard standing pitch would have been better.
Good for a quick stop.

Brilliant.
Great guide and an amazing way to visit yellow eyed penguins, blue penguins and some seals.
We were a small group in the winter, but hugely enjoyed the experience and particularly the local knowledge that came with it.
High recommended and a great cause to support.

Location was good for Queenstown.
Facilities were clean and warm in the winter.
As a site, I found it cramp and was disappointed that although implied in the name, we couldn't see how any of the campervans could have seen the lake.
Overall we were disappointed and would not recommend the site.

Amazing views to wake up to, having arrived in the dark.
Our first site in NZ and possible the best setting.
