As of April 1st (Honestly) this is no longer a Top 10 location.
We were however given and equivalent discount and free internet by the very friendly staff. It is a big campsite and one day was very wet so we did not do a lot. There are stores close by and a good kitchen and showers close to the powered sites anyway. Convenient to all the local attractions and only 12 km from Mt Manganui, which we climbed

Great experience.
They were helpful and responsive in the booking process and answering questions. We thought the pricing was reasonable (50 day rental) and capping the cost of the insurance after 30 (?) days really helped. The refrigerator was marginal in performance when just running on the battery but was ok when plugged in to mains power and when the engine was running. We were satisfied all around

Kinda strange place (the name would give you a hint!) It has clearly been around for a while and is ideally located if you are going on the Doubtful Sound tour.
The dock is a 5 minute walk away. The showers are located by the kitchen, but the toilets are at the other end of the admittedly small site. All amenities were clean and the water was hot in the showers. WiFi is available but only at certain hours and in the communal sitting room or close to it.. I am glad that I reviewed my credit card account on line before leaving as I was charged $100 more than my bill for the one night stay. My fault for not checking when I signed and my money was refunded without question, so a genuine mistake I believe. An OK experience but not one of the best for sure

Great site close to town and well maintained.
Friendly and helpful staff and the showers and toilets were clean and the water hot. Could not ask for much more!
Thank you for taking the time to review our park Andrew, we are glad to hear you experienced the two things we like to pride ourselves on - cleanliness and friendliness, and we hope you choose to stay with us again in the future.

A bit cramped but a good site with easy access to the kitchen.
A new shower and toilet block and good access to the dump station (sometimes an issue with a big van) Pleasant reception staff.

Lakeview might be an optimistic title.
The lake can be seen through the trees on a good day but certainly no clear vista. The site is busy and while not crowded while we were there it would be crowded and noisy in the summer. Facilities were all good and friendly and helpful staff in the office.

Excellent location in the park and about 20km from Mt Cook village.
Quiet site the night we stayed there. Good kitchen and showers.

Great site about 1km out of Fox Glacier.
Level gravel sites with a friendly helpful manager (Nick). We stayed a couple of days to get caught up on laundry and have a couple of non driving days. Good clean facilities and an all around good experience.

Well kept site.
Smallish sites for a big camper. Try for site 34/35/36 as they are close to the grill, showers, toilets and kitchen but not too close! Friendly helpful staff. Wifi lacks the bandwidth with lots of visitors. Close to town and so convenient.

Free site with a basic toilet and dump site close by.
All good. Traffic is a bit of an issue but calms down overnight. Great views of the water and it is CLOSE by!. There were about 15 groups camping but a reasonable amount of space

Basic free site with spectacular views of the lake and close to Cromwell.
Toilets only but well kept. Jackson Orchard fruit stand is close and had some great deals on plums in particular. Good selection and reasonable prices.
Lots of campers at the site but lots of space too

We stayed here when we arrived in Christchurch and picking up our camper van.
Good facilities and attentive staff. It is a busy place and the powered site are a bit tight but that is to be expected with the location. A 10 min walk to a couple of supermarkets. We did a Christchurch tour which they arranged and we were collected from the park. Overall a good experience

An overnight stay in a great location.
Some traffic noise but not too bad. Magnificent views and a nice level grass site. Somewhat spoiled by very smelly toilets and the trash had not been emptied in several days. Otherwise all good.

A nice site that we spotted going one way and eventually returned to.
We had a nice site with a great view of the river below the gorge and a whole lot of mist hanging over the river in the morning. A mix of permanent sites and visitors but powered sites available at a very reasonable price. Cash only I recall. Good showers and bathrooms and a small outdoor kitchen and laundry area

All good.
We were there on a fairly quiet night so could pick our site easily and all the facilities were good with clean bathrooms and hot free showers.
Great views of the lake and far enough from the main road to be nice and quiet
Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We are a classic kiwi camp and we love to share our stunning location with people from all around the world.

Nice site and we had a prime spot to park our van right by the water with a great view.
Facilities were very good with a nice clean kitchen and the manager / owner had suggestions for walks. If you go to the beach in the early morning (to watch a sunrise maybe) be aware that the local sea lions not only like to sleep on the beach but secluded in the dunes as well! I nearly fell over one and it scared the crap out of me! Otherwise a really nice site.
Hey Andrew
Thanks so much for your fun and kind review. Yes i have done that too - almost stepped on a sea lion walking along the beach track. It is so worth while getting up early for the beach sunrise shots - the photo on our sign as you enter the camp was taken by a guest Barry - from Germany. Huge wow factor. Site No 1 is magic.
Again thanks, take excellent care, cheers Jude

We stayed just one night here in one of the cabins.
Clean and all the facilities were first class. It was our first experience with Camper Parks and fully met our expectations
